PROMPT DETAILS Updated 2026-05-17
The Prompt
Build a fictional world with this premise: [YOUR WORLD'S UNIQUE ELEMENT]
Develop it through these lenses:
**Physical:**
- Geography and climate (how does it shape culture?)
- Resources (what's abundant? what's scarce? who controls access?)
- Technology level and its limitations
**Social:**
- Power structure (who rules and by what authority?)
- Class system (who has mobility? who doesn't?)
- Cultural values (what's honored? what's taboo?)
- Conflicts (between which groups? over what?)
**Historical:**
- Origin story (how do people explain their world?)
- Defining event (the before/after moment everyone references)
- What's being forgotten and what's being remembered wrong
**Daily Life:**
- What does an ordinary person's day look like?
- What do children learn first?
- What do people argue about at dinner?
- What's the one thing everyone takes for granted?
**Logical Consequences:**
Most importantly: if [YOUR UNIQUE ELEMENT] is true, what else MUST be true? Follow the implications ruthlessly. A world with teleportation has no roads. A world with telepathy has no secrets. What breaks? What emerges?
How To Use It
Start with one unique element (a rule of magic, a technology, a historical divergence) and let the AI trace its implications through every layer of society. The best worldbuilding comes from rigorous consistency, not endless invention.
Why It Works
The “logical consequences” section is the key. Most worldbuilding adds cool details without considering how they’d actually reshape society. By forcing the AI to follow implications, you get a world that feels inevitable rather than arbitrary.
Variations
Culture designer:
Design a culture built around [VALUE/RESOURCE/CONSTRAINT]. How does it shape their art, religion, warfare, and concept of honor? What would outsiders misunderstand about them?
Magic system:
Design a magic system with this constraint: [LIMITATION]. Define: what it can do, what it costs, who can access it, how it changed warfare, and what society would look like after 1000 years of it existing.
History generator:
Write a 500-year timeline for this world. Include: a golden age, a catastrophe, a revolution, and an ongoing tension. Each event should causally connect to the next.
